One Woman Show: One Woman Show | Curtis Mayfield - Pusherman Ok, so shoot me. I...

Obvious, yes but perhaps — the quintessential — the perfect Curtis Mayfield track. His open f# tuning and falsetto singing put him head and shoulders above the rabble of the era. His civil rights efforts, his development of funk stylings, his influence on artists like Jimi Hendrix, his efforts to overcome his personal tragedies, marked him as much, much more than a peer. Thanks for this, butterfly, it brought back a wave of good memories.

Oh, thanks darlin'... you're very kind...

My posts here have been infrequent and not exactly thrilling of late due to the general state of things, but if anyone was going to get this one, it was you. :)

    I'll be doing better, presently....

I've been slowing terribly of late, too. It's high summer and, as you say, "the general state of things" has me going in too many other directions.

Hope you are up to snuff in short order and I hope you don't mind me occasionally reblogging your One Woman Show posts; they are just that good.

    Cheers!

Mind? Of course I don't mind... Thank you! :)

It thrills me, in fact. I've been avoiding logging in to this account of
late simply because I feel I have nothing to add..and I don't want to see
how many people are not enjoying what I've posted in a rushed, drunken
    haze...

I'm still undecided about reblogging things myself... one woman show and all
    that...

In short order, I shall be up to snuff and there will be improvements...I
    hope.

You've pretty much been keeping me going in the meantime... :)

I'm quite relieved to learn you don't mind the reblogging!

As to posting, it's not the quantity or the frequency of the post, it's the quality that shines through. You certainly know and love what you post. Hope you are feeling up to snuff in short order :) and mention of 'improvements' do intrigue me.

Glad to hear I have provided a little encouragement, cheers!

going to follow you on the strength ( & i do mean "strength") of this track alone. the whole album is stellar...."little child runnin' wild" , "freddie's dead".....hard to pick just one.
